Warranty Service

In as much as we at Toyota Balintawak take pride in every vehicle we sell and maintain, we also take responsibility for each one of them. The Warranty Service is an important obligation that TBK fulfills, to repair or replace any Toyota vehicle or supplied car part that is found defective in material or workmanship (described under the Basic Warranty Coverage). As part of Toyota’s world-renowned standards, these warranty services are faithfully carried out by TBK and other Toyota Dealers nationwide.

Basic Warranty Coverage

Toyota warrants that it will either repair or replace any Toyota-supplied component part (limited thereto) that is found defective in material or workmanship under normal use within a period of 36 months or 100,000 kilometers, whichever comes first, except those items listed under “What is Not Covered.”

What is not Covered?

  1. Factors beyond the Manufacturer’s Control
    1. Repairs & adjustments required as a result of misuse (ie. Racing, overloading, overrevving, or similar improper usage), negligence, modification, alteration, tampering, disconnection, improper adjustment and accidents are not covered.
    2. Repair by a non-authorized Toyota dealer or personnel, use of add-on parts/materials not supplied by Toyota and use of non-Toyota genuine parts are not covered.
    3. Cosmetic or surface corrosion from stone chips or scratches in the paint is not covered.
    4. Damages and/or surface corrosion problems due to the environment such as acid rain, airborne fall-out (chemicals, tree saps, etc.) salt, hail, windstorms, lightning, floods, other acts of nature, acts of terrorism, war and the like are not covered.
    5. Damages arising from excessive use as a public utility franchised vehicle (ie. Taxi, shuttle Service, etc.) are not covered.
    6. Radio and TVSS malfunction due to interferences in specific areas are not covered.
  2. Maintenance is at owner’s expense.
    1. The labor, parts or lubricant cost of maintenance services such as engine tune-up, cooling system and fuel system cleaning, emission adjustments, carbon and sludge removal, brake and clutch adjustments, wheel alignment, tire balancing, and drive belt adjustment is at owner’s expense.
    2. The replacement of normal maintenance parts such as spark plugs, distributor points, drive belts, lamp bulbs, fuses, filters, lubricants, worn brake pads, and lining or worn clutch linings and fluids at owner’s expense when they are replaced as maintenance service ordinarily required with vehicle use.
  3. Normal Noise, Vibration, and Deterioration
    Normal noise, vibration, wear, tear, and deterioration such as discoloration, fading, deformation of blur and fabric discoloration are not covered.
  4. Lack of Maintenance or Use of Wrong Fuel, Oil or Lubes.
    Repairs and adjustments caused by improper maintenance, lack of required maintenance, or the use of fluids other than the fluids recommended by Toyota.
  5. Altered Mileage
    Failure of a vehicle on which the odometer mileage has been altered or changed so that the vehicle mileage cannot be readily ascertained is not covered.
  6. Extra Expenses
    Incidental or consequential damages such as telephone calls, loss of time, inconvenience, commercial loss and towing are not covered.

Obtaining Warranty Service

Bring your Toyota vehicle to Toyota Balintawak, Inc. and/or Toyota North Edsa Service Department in order to obtain warranty service. Look for a Service Advisor and present your vehicle’s warranty booklet for eligibility and the vehicle for confirmation of the defect.
